Internal scholarships and allowance
What are the conditions for Kuwait's internal scholarship (2026)?
Quick answer
You must be a Kuwaiti national aged 16 to 23 (high-school graduates), with a certificate no older than 26 months, not employed, without a bachelor's degree and not enrolled elsewhere, and you must meet your major's cut-off. Priority goes to the highest averages within the available seats.
- Applicants with disabilities get 10% added to their high-school percentage, with a certificate from the Public Authority for Disability Affairs. Diplomats' children are a separate registration category.
- For foreign-curriculum certificates, the Ministry's Private Education Department sets the track and the equivalent percentage.
- You sign a financial and academic undertaking with a guardian or guarantor, and must pass the language level within two semesters.
- In June 2026 the council lowered the minimum age from 17 to 16.
