Is GUST accredited? What are its accreditations?
Quick answer
Yes. GUST is Kuwait's first private university (Amiri Decree 156 of 2002). It says its Private Universities Council institutional accreditation is renewed every four years, and the PUC page shows the renewal in progress. Internationally, computer science is ABET-accredited and the business college is AACSB-accredited.
- GUST's engineering degrees (computer, electrical, engineering management) are not on ABET's list.
- It received QAA (UK) institutional accreditation, plus accreditation of its three English BA programs, in January 2025.
- The English Foundation Program is CEA-accredited and Mass Communication is ACA-accredited.
- Rankings: 451–500 in THE World 2027 (the highest of Kuwait's private universities in THE), and 58th in the Arab region and 951–1000 in the world in QS 2027.
